FREEDOM CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS
Drew University 5, Delaware Valley 2

MADISON (NJ) -- Kristn Scarpa registered a hat trick to lead Drew University to a 5-2 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in the Freedom Conference semifinals.

The loss ends the Aggies' season at 8-13. They went 4-2 in conference play and reached the postseason for the second time in the last three years. Drew, which has won the last four conference championships, advances to the Saturday's title game when it hosts King's College.

The Rangers (12-6) jumped out to a 4-0, first-half lead including three goals by Scarpa. Scapra put Drew on the board 13:20 into the contest off an assist from Colleen Mahon. Mahon then assisted on Erica Nelson's goal four minutes later. Scarpa then notched back-to-back goals to complete the hat trick.

Kristne Cottman made it a 4-1 game as the junior scored her team-best 12th goal of the season off a Shannon Shivak assist with 3:35 to go in the first half.

Kara Fetter scored Drew's final goal while Shivak added a tally with just 29 seconds remaining in the contest.

Lauren Duke and Missy Cannon combined for seven saves for Delaware Valley, which was outshot 29-9 in the game.
