UNION, N.J. – Kean University sophomore forward Michelle Carlani netted two goals to lead the Cougars to a 2-0 victory over Delaware Valley College in non-conference field hockey action on Thursday evening. The victory improved the Cougars to 11-0 overall, while Delaware Valley fell to 3-6 on the season.

After a scoreless first half in which the team combined for five shots, the Cougars scored early in the second period as Carlani scored off the assist from senior midfielder Deanna Thomas just 3:37 into the second period.

Kean tallied an insurance goal when Carlani took a pass from junior midfielder Melissa Nunez at the 61:33 mark.

Sophomore goalie Concetta Valerio made two saves for the shutout, while freshman keeper Missy Cannon made eight saves for Delaware Valley.
