Chestnut Hill College 2, Delaware Valley 1

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - The Delaware Valley College field hockey team fell to 3-4 on the season with a 2-1, non-conference loss to visiting Chestnut Hill College.

Chestnut Hill (5-1) scored the lone goal of the first half as Kelly McGrath had an unassisted tally with 14:02 remaining before intermission. Mary Amrheim added to the lead as she took a pass from Kelly McGrath and put the ball past Aggie goalkeeper Leigh Stiffler with 20:17 to go in the contest.

Delaware Valley (3-4) pulled to within one with 15:48 left as freshman Natalie Stannard scored her second goal of the season. However, that was as close as the Aggies would get despite outshooting Chestnut Hill, 21-12. They also held a 17-9 advantage in penalty corners.

Stiffler finished with nine saves in the loss.
