Delaware Valley College 69, Lincoln University 64

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY (PA) - Delaware Valley College senior guard Moira Donohue scored 19 points, including the 1,200th point of her career, to lead the Aggies to a 69-64 victory at Division II Lincoln University.

The win was the second straight for Delaware Valley as it the .500 mark at 9-9 overall. The Lions, who moved up from Division III this year, fell to 4-12.

Donohue was 7-for-11 from the field, including a 5-for-11 effort from 3-point land. She currently stands at exactly at 1,200 points and became just the seventh player in Aggie women's basketball history to reach the plateau. Donohue's five treys upped her career total 167, leaving her just 15 behind the all-time mark of 182 set by Kate Monahan from 1991 to 1995.

While Donohue finished as high scorer for Delaware Valley, it was Kim Vennera who got the Aggies going early as she scored 11 of the team's first 16 points for a 16-7 lead just seven minutes into the contest. The Aggies led by as many as 12 in the first half and eventually took a 39-29 advantage into the break.

Delaware Valley upped the lead to as many as 16 in the second half and was still ahead by 12, 65-53, with 5:55 to go. Lincoln made it a ballgame by scoring seven straight and 11 of 13 to trail by just three, 67-64 with 2:28 remaining. Both teams could not hit from the field the rest of the way while freshman Brittany Battinieri hit one of two free throws on two trips to the line in the final minute, for the Aggies' final points.

Vennera finished with 16 points and six boards while Battinieri hit four from 3-point land and ended the night with 15 points and seven rebounds. Brooke Dittmar nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine caroms.

Asha Atkinson paced the Lions with 19 points and 14 rebounds and Tanina Cook contributed 14 points and nine boards. Chanelle Harris was two assists shy of triple-double as she finished the evening with 12 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.
