DITTMAR NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PLAYER
OF THE WEEK
DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College senior center Brooke
Dittmar (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) has been named the Freedom Conference
Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending February
24.
Dittmar averaged 16.5 points and 17 rebounds in a 1-1 week that
saw the Aggies clinch a conference playoff berth for the sixth time
in the last eight years. She opened with eight points and 13 boards
in Wednesday's 67-56 win over FDU-Florham that sealed the postseason
spot.
Dittmar then ended the regular season with career highs in both
points (25) and rebounds in an 81-64 loss at King's College on Saturday.
She was 15-for-16 from the foul line (missing the school record
for free throws made in a game by just one) while 15 of her 21 boards
were on the offensive end.
Dittmar is averaging a double-double with 10.4 points and a Freedom
Conference best 10.4 rebounds per game. The team captain's 614 career
rebounds rank sixth on the school's all-time list.
Delaware Valley ended the regular season with a 13-12 overall record
and a 7-5 mark in the Freedom. The Aggies are the fourth seed and
will travel to 25th-ranked DeSales University for a conference semifinal
match-up on Wednesday, February 27 (6:00 p.m.).
