Widener University 68, Delaware Valley 64

CHESTER (PA) - Widener University scored 12 of the game's final 16 points as the Pioneers came from behind and downed visiting Delaware Valley College, 68-64, in a non-conference game.

The Aggies (2-1) took a 60-56 lead with 3:02 remaining as Shannon O'Neil hit a pair of free throws. However, a Chelsea Luhta jumper and a Celeste Baumgardner putback tied the contest with 1:32 to go.

With 38 seconds remaining, Luhta drilled a 3-pointer to give Widener (3-0) a three-point advantage. The Aggies turned the ball on the inbounds and Dominique Kidd was fouled. She hit both foul shots for a five-point lead with 29 seconds to go.

Moira Donohue pulled Delaware Valley back to within three with a jumper with 20 seconds to go, but Luhta hit three fouls shots down the stretch to ice the game.

O'Neill led the Aggies with 19 points and four assists while Donohue chipped in with 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Rachel Joyce added 13 points and seven boards while Juli McGowan had nine points, six rebounds and five steals.

Baumgardner paced Widener with 22 points while Luhta added 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals.
