Delaware Valley 79, Lebanon Valley College 62
Aggies Capture Rinso Marquette Tournament Championship; Joyce Named MVP

ANNVILLE (PA) - Delaware Valley College scored the first 14 points of the game and never looked back as the Aggies captured the 2005 Rinso Marquette Tournament Championship with a 79-62 victory over host Lebanon Valley College.

Junior forward/guard Rachel Joyce was named the tournament Most Valuable Player as she notched 39 points, 21 rebounds and five assists over the two days, including a 15-point, 13-rebound, four-assist performance in the championship game.

Sophomore point guard Shannon O'Neill was named to the all-tournament team as she had 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds in the two games. O'Neill produced 11 points, nine assists and seven boards on Saturday.

Delaware Valley got off to the quick start against the Flying Dutchmen (1-1) as Joyce scored five points and O'Neill added three more. The Aggies built the lead to as many as 16 in the first half and took a 41-26 advantage into the intermission.

Lebanon Valley pulled to within seven points on three occasions in the second half, the last being 62-55 with 7:08 to go on a 3-pointer by Donna Geiger. However, Delaware Valley responded with a 7-0 run - four by Joyce and three by O'Neill - to put the game away.

Sophomore Moira Donohue had a big showing in the championship game as the guard was 13-for-17 from the field and finished with a career-high 27 points. She also added six rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 33 minutes of action.

Senior Juli McGowan added 11 points and six rebounds while fellow senior Jennifer McCarthy came off the bench to contribute nine points and eight boards.
