Delaware Valley 71, Drew University 65

MADISON (NJ) - Delaware Valley College rallied from a four-point halftime deficit and downed host Drew University, 71-65, in a key Freedom Conference game.

The Aggies (16-6, 8-3) remained in sole possession of second place in the conference with the victory. They are one game ahead of DeSales, two ahead of King's and three games ahead of Drew. Just three games remain in the regular season and the top four teams qualify of the Freedom Conference playoffs.

Delaware Valley also avoided a series sweep by Drew as the Rangers picked up a win in Doylestown last month. The Aggies did so by erasing a 36-32 deficit at the break and outscoring Drew, 39-29, in the second stanza. The team got the job done on the foul line, making 22 of 26 attempts (84.6%), including a 17-for-19 (89.5%) effort in the second half

Moira Donohue and Juli McGowan paced Delaware Valley with 15 and 13 points respectively. Donohue went 7-for-8 from the foul line, including a 5-for-6 showing in the second half. McGowan was perfect on all six of her free throw attempts with all the trips to the charity stripe taking place in the second half.

Freshman forward Kristin Bone had a big game off the bench with 12 points, including 10 in the second stanza. Rachel Joyce added 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds while Shannon O'Neill also hit double figures with 10 points.

Melissa Kraft netted 24 points while Ann Mularz chipped in 17 for Drew.
