Delaware Valley 68, Ursinus College 56


DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Beccie Strohecker scored a career-high 25 points and Juli McGowan added 21 to lead Delaware Valley College to a 68-56, come-from-behind victory against Ursinus College in a non-conference game.

The Aggies snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory and improved to 4-4 on the season. The Bears fell to 2-5.

Strohecker came off the bench to hit 9 of 12 shots from the field, including a 5-for-8 effort from 3-point land. She also added four steals and three rebounds in 26 minutes of action.

McGowan had her second straight start and the junior was 6-for-10 from the field, including 3-for-7 from beyond the arc. She also contributed four rebounds in the win.

Delaware Valley trailed 35-30 at halftime, but began the second stanza with a 10-0 run to take a five-point advantage with 15:08 remaining. McGowan (six points) and Strohecker (four points) combined for all 10 points in the spurt.

Ursinus came back and tied the game at 43 as Stephanie Cavalier hit a jumper with 11:30 to go, but Strohecker nailed a trey to start a 19-6 run that put the game away.

Kate McCarthy scored seven points for Delaware Valley while Bridget Golden and Rachel Joyce combined for 17 rebounds. Freshman Moira Donohue dished out eight assists and had three steals in 20 minutes off the bench.

Mary Kate Daley paced the Bears with 12 points while Dana Alf added 10. Molly Guntli led all players with 11 rebounds while adding nine points, three steals, three assists and two blocks.
