Lebanon Valley College 76, Delaware Valley 73

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Jennifer Northcott and Monica Johnson combined for 40 points and 28 rebounds to lead Lebanon Valley College to a 76-73 victory at host Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

The Flying Dutchmen improved to 4-2 on the season while the Aggies dropped their third consecutive game and fell to 3-4.

Northcott was 8-for-10 from the field and finished with 21 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks in 38 minutes of play. Johnson was 7-for-11 from the field and notched 19 points and 10 rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.

Lebanon Valley led 45-29 late in the first half when Delaware Valley scored the final six points before intermission, including a 3-pointer by Jackie Hartzell at the buzzer, to pull to within 10.

The Aggies then opened the second stanza with a 12-1 run to take a 47-46 lead with 16:24 remaining. Shannon O'Neill had five points in the spurt. Delaware Valley still held a lead, 56-53, with 11:38 to go before Johnson scored four in a 6-0 Flying Dutchmen run as they regained the advantage.

Lebanon Valley had a four-point lead before Juli McGowan sank a pair of free throws to pull Delaware Valley to within 75-74 with seven seconds to go. Northcott was fouled a second later, but she made just one of two free throws, giving the Aggies a chance to tie the game. However, they could not get a 3-point attempt off before the buzzer and Lebanon Valley escaped with the win.

McGowan, in her first start of the year, recorded 18 points and 10 rebounds to pace Delaware Valley. Bridget Golden added 10 points and 10 boards while Hartzell came off the bench to contribute 10 points. O'Neill and Rachel Joyce had eight apiece in the loss.
