Women's Basketball

Delaware Valley 71, Cabrini College 62

RADNOR (PA) -- Senior center Bridget Golden scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Delaware Valley College to a 71-62 road victory over Cabrini College in a non-conference game.

The win was the fourth straight for the Aggies, who improved to 7-4 on the season. The Lady Cavaliers fell to 3-5.

Golden, who entered the game ranked second in the Freedom Conference in rebounding (9.1 avg), upped her season average as she grabbed nine offensive rebounds and six on the defensive end. In the process, she became just the second player in Delaware Valley women's basketball history to go over the 800-rebound plateau (809) in a career, joining former teammate and 2002 graduate Lauren Snyder (951).

Sophomore forward Rachel Joyce had 15 points and eight rebounds while Juli McGowan added 10 points in the victory. Delaware Valley held a 34-27 advantage at the break and upped the lead to as many as 15, 51-36, in the second half.

The Aggie defense held Cabrini to just 35.9 percent shooting from the field. Erin Shemar scored a game-high 24 points in the loss.
