University of Scranton 93, Delaware Valley 59

SCRANTON (PA) -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team, ranked fifth in Division III, went on 22-0 run early in the first half and cruised to a 93-59 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The Aggies (9-7, 4-3) tied the game at 10-10 when Jackie Hartzell hit a 3-pointer with 15:57 left in the first half. However, Scranton (16-1, 6-1) scored the next 22 straight, including 10 by Tara Gemmel, to pull away.

Hartzell led Delaware Valley with 16 points and five assists. Rachel Joyce added 11 points and eight boards while Shannon McCormick and Juli McGowan scored nine points apiece.

Gemmel led all scored with 19 points while also adding 10 assists and seven rebounds.
