Lycoming College 85, Delaware Valley 63

WILLIAMSPORT (PA) - The Delaware Valley College women's basketball team fell to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in the Freedom Conference with an 85-63 loss at Lycoming College.

The Aggies trailed for most of the first half but pulled to within one, 27-26, as senior Shannon McCormick hit a jumper with 4:05 to go before the break. However, the Lady Warriors (7-5, 1-2) went on a 13-4 run to take a 10-point halftime lead and Delaware Valley did not get any closer than eight points the rest of the contest.

The Aggies struggled from the field all day as they connected on just 22 of 66 attempts (33.3%), including a 4-for-25 (16.0%) effort from 3-point land. Freshman Rachel Joyce paced the team with 12 points before fouling out. McCormick recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds while junior Bridget Golden and sophomore Juli McGowan added 10 points apiece.

Lycoming was led by Mindy Culp's 19 points, six rebounds and five steals. Rebecca Pugh netted 13 points while Emily DiMarco had 11 points, five rebounds and four steals in the victory.
