Goucher College 103, Delaware Valley 75

TOWSON (MD) - Stephanie Tolbert scored a career-high 34 points and was one of four Goucher College players to reach double figures as the Gophers posted a 103-75 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

Goucher shot 57.9 percent from the field (22-for-38) in the second half as it outscored the Aggies, 58-40, in the final 20 minutes. The Gophers (6-4) also held a 55-35 rebounding advantage for the game.

The two teams were tied on 11 different occasions in the first half before the Gophers (6-4) pulled out to a 45-35 advantage at the intermission. Delaware Valley (6-2) got to within two, 59-57, as Juli McGowan hit a 3-pointer with 10:28 remaining in the contest. However, Goucher went on a 22-4 run to put the game away.

Freshman forward Rachel Joyce scored a career-best 20 points to pace the Aggies. She hit 11 of 12 shots from the foul line and grabbed seven rebounds in 33 minutes of action. McGowan, a sophomore guard, connected for 18 points while junior center Bridget Golden added 17 points and eight rebounds.

In addition to Tolbert's career night, Kate Guggino (26 points), Stacy Hollander (16 points) and Kimberley Gordy (12 points) hit double figures for the Gophers. Tolbert was 13-for-26 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line.
