Gwynedd-Mercy College 69, Delaware Valley 57

GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) -- Bridget Golden notched 17 points and 18 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Delaware Valley College dropped a 69-57, non-conference game at Gwynedd-Mercy College.

The loss dropped the Aggies to 9-6 while the Griffins improved to 13-2.

Golden, who earlier in the day was named the Freedom Conference Player of the Week, posted her 11th double-double of the season. She was 9-for-12 from the foul line while 13 of her 18 boards came at the defensive end. The junior center also moved into fifth place on the Delaware Valley all-time rebounding list with 597 boards.

Golden was the lone Aggie in double figures. Kate McCarthy followed with nine points and five rebounds while Jackie Hartzell and Rachel Joyce chipped in seven points apiece.

Delaware Valley shot just 25 percent from the field but stayed in the contest thanks to 27-for-34 (85.3%) shooting from the foul line.

Gwynedd-Mercy held a 30-24 lead at halftime and built it up to as many as 17, 68-51, in the second half. Kathy Snell paced the Griffins with 17 points, including five 3-pointers.
