Aggies Upset 20th-Ranked Team In Division III
DOYLESTOWN (PA) - After scoring just 20 points in the first half,
the Delaware Valley College women's basketball team outscored DeSales
University 45-33 in the final 20 minutes as the Aggies upset the
20th-ranked Bulldogs, 65-60, in a Freedom Conference game.
The win lifted Delaware Valley's record to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in
the conference. It also marked the sixth straight year that the
Aggies upset a nationally-ranked opponent in the friendly confines
of James Work Gymnasium. The loss snapped a nine-game winning streak
for DeSales as it fell to 11-3, 2-2.
Neither team could hit from the field in the first half as the two

the break after leading by as many as nine during the half.
However, the Aggies came flying out to start the second half and
went on a 18-5 run in the first four minutes to take a 38-32 advantage.
Freshman forward Rachel Joyce, who earned a spot on the Freedom
Conference Honor Roll for her play last week, had eight of the 18
points to lead the spurt.
DeSales answered with five straight points to pull to within one,
but Delaware Valley scored the next six, including four by Bridget
Golden, and never looked back.

shooting from the field. Golden, who had no points and three rebounds
in the first half, finished with another double-double as she notched
