Delaware Valley 78, Cabrini College 60

DOYLESTOWN (PA) -- Junior forward/guard Jackie Hartzell scored a career-high 23 points, including seven in a crucial, 10-0 run late in the second half, to lead Delaware Valley College to a 78-60 victory over visiting Cabrinu College in a non-conference game.

With the win, the Aggies improved to 3-0 on the year and their second win over the Lady Cavaliers (1-2) in the last three days. The two teams in the championship game of the Cabrini Tip-Off Tournament and Delaware Valley came away with a 58-55 victory.

Hartzell hit 9 of 13 shots from the field, including a 4-for-5 performance from beyond the arc. She also added three rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes of action.

After trailing by seven points midway through the first half, Delaware Valley came roaring back and used an 18-2 run over the final five minutes to take a 44-29 advantage at the break.

The Aggies upped the advantage to as many as 24, but Cabrini made it a nine-point game, 66-57, with 5:24 remaining. However, Delaware Valley sealed the deal with 10 straight points, inlcuding seven by Hartzell.

Bridget Golden notched another double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Kate McCarthy added nine points and nine assists while Shannon McCormick had nine points and six boards.

Amy Richetti was the lone Lady Cavalier to score in double figures as she finished the night with 17 points.
