Gettysburg College 70, Delaware Valley 63
(Opening Round of Marymount University December Classic)

ARLINGTON (VA) -- Jay Hodge notched 18 points and 14 rebounds as Gettysburg College downed Delaware Valley College, 70-63, in the opening round of the Marymount University December Classic. The Aggies will now take on Kean University in Monday's consolation game (1:30 p.m.).

The two teams battled back and forth throughout the contest with Delaware Valley (1-5) erasing a seven-point deficit to take a 48-46 lead. However, the Bullets (5-3) scored 21 of the game's final 36 points for the seven-point victory.

Senior Amber Smolinsky paced the Aggies with 24 points and seven assists. Freshman Kate McCarthy added 12 points and eight boards including a pair of 3-pointers late in the game to pull Delaware Valley to within three at 66-63 with 30 seconds left.

Sophomore Bridget Golden had eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds while junior Shannon McCormick had eight points in the losing effort.
