Delaware Valley 75, Drew University 60

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - The Delaware Valley College women's basketball team went on a 21-0 run in the second half as the Aggies recorded a 75-60 victory over visiting Drew University in a Freedom Conference game.

Delaware Valley (5-10, 1-5) led 30-24 at halftime then scored eight of the first 12 points of the second stanza to build a 10-point lead. Drew (9-6, 2-4) responded with a 3-pointer by Sarah Marquez and a layup by Jennifer Shea to make it 38-33 with 14:50 remaining.

From there, it was all Delaware Valley as the Aggies raced out to score the next 21 points for a 59-33 lead with 10:08 left. Bridget Golden and Sarah Tuffner netted five points apiece in the run. The spurt came to an end with 9:21 to go as Catherine Seto hit a 3-pointer for the Rangers.

Five Delaware Valley players reached double figures in scoring, including Amber Smolinsky who finished with a game-high 18 points. Jackie Hartzell and Shannon McCormick added 13 and 12 points respectively while Tuffner and Golden had 11 apiece. Tuffner also notched 10 rebounds and five blocks while Golden had eight rebounds and three blocks.

Seto and Jennifer Shea paced Drew with 10 points apiece while Marquez and Eileen Herr finished with nine points apiece.
