DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Amber Smolinsky scored a career-high 33 points to lead the Delaware Valley College women's basketball team to an 80-69 victory over visiting Arcadia University in a non-conference game.

Smolinsky hit 12 of 24 shots from the field (1-for-3 from 3-point land) and 8-for-10 from the foul line as she tied two others for the eighth-highest, single-game scoring total in school history. The senior guard also notched nine rebounds, five assists and four steals in the contest.

After a slow start, the Aggies (6-10) scored 12 of the final 15 points of the first half to take a 38-29 lead into the intermission. The Knights (7-9) pulled to within seven, 42-35, five minutes into the second half, before Delaware Valley scored 11 straight to open up an 18-point lead with 13:07 left. Smolinsky had five points in the run.

The Aggies built the lead to 22, 65-43, and was still up 70-54 with 5:04 left. Arcadia then scored 10 straight points, including six by Becky Soda, to make it a six-point game, 70-64, with 1:28 to go. However, Delaware Valley hit its free throws down the stretch, including a 6-for-6 showing by Smolinsky, to put the game away.

In addition to Smolinsky, sophomore forward/center Bridget Golden notched 10 points, a game-high 16 rebounds and six blocks. Juli McGowan also hit double figures as the freshman guard came off the bench to score 10.
