Immaculata University 76, Delaware Valley College 61

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Immaculata University continued its best start in program history with a 76-61, non-conference victory at Delaware Valley College.

The Mighty Macs, in just their fourth year as a varsity program, improved its mark to 5-0. The Aggies fell to 0-8.

Immaculata took the lead for good midway through the first half. The Mighty Macs upped the advantage to as many as 11 in the stanza and took a nine-point lead, 34-25, into the intermission.

Delaware Valley pulled to within seven on two occasions in the second half, the last coming on a Raheem Wiggins layup that made it 42-35 with 11:43 remaining. However, Immaculata scored 14 of the next 19 points to put the contest away.

Rob Jones recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mighty Macs. Kyle Finklea added 17 points while Reggie Strickland reached double digits with 10 points.

Wiggins and fellow freshman Matt Beichey notched 15 points apiece for the Aggies. Wiggins also added 12 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots while Beichey's line included six boards. Brian Hilinski added 10 points in the loss.
