Eastern University 86, Delaware Valley College 69

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Eastern University went on a 19-1 run in the first half and cruised to an 86-69 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

The Aggies (0-9) pulled to within two, 17-15, as Bill Gelsomini drained a 3-pointer with 9:09 left in the half. However, the Eagles (2-3) scored seven straight, including five by Daryl Leegwater, for a 24-15 advantage. Brian Hilinski hit a free throw for Delaware Valley, but Eastern answered with 12 straight to complete the 19-1 run and up its lead to 36-16 with 4:26 to go before the intermission.

The Eagles eventually took a 42-25 lead into break and upped the advantage to as many as 23 in the second half. The Aggies pulled to within 14 on a pair of occasions, but that was as close as they would come.

Matt Flanagan finished with 16 points to pace Eastern. Leegwater and Danny Miller added 14 points apiece while Mike Johnson nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Delaware Valley was led by Jason Seipt as the junior point guard tallied 16 points, seven assists and four steals. Raheem Wiggins came off the bench to notch 14 points and 11 rebounds in 19 minutes of action while Ryan Thomas also came off the bench and contributed 11 points.
