DeSales University 78, Delaware Valley College 63

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - DeSales University shot 57.1 percent from the field in the second half as the Bulldogs pulled away to a 78-63 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The first half saw the Aggies (2-20, 0-10 Freedom) battle first-place DeSales (18-4, 8-2) to a 30-30 standstill. Delaware Valley then trailed by just two, 40-38, after a Matt Beichey layup with 15:38 remaining, but the Bulldogs responded with a 9-2 run to open a nine-point advantage.

The Aggies made it a six-point ballgame, 54-48, with 10:59 left on the clock, but DeSales went on a 10-0 run, including nine by Matt Zwetolitz, and the Bulldogs never looked back as they went up a half game on idle Manhattanville for the top spot in the conference.

Zwetolitz came off the bench to tie for top scoring honors with 18 points. Phil Stricker also finished with 18 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. Eric Salem scored nine points while Eddie Ohlson notched eight points and seven assists.
