Richard Stockton College 84, Delaware
Valley College 70
POMONA (NJ) - Delaware Valley College senior guard Isaiah Pinckney
set a school record with 10, 3-pointers and finished with a career-high
36 points, but it wasn't enough as the Aggies dropped an 84-70 decision
at unbeaten Richard Stockton College.
Pinckney's 10 treys broke the previous mark of eight set by Eric
Banks in a 1990 contest against Moravian College while his 19 attempts
topped Matt Rainear's total of 15 against both Upsala and FDU-Madison
in 1995. The 36 points by Pinckney tied four others for the ninth-highest,
single-game scoring total in school history - just eight points
off the record.
However, the Ospreys (3-0) jumped out to a 45-29 halftime lead
and built the advantage to as many as 22 in the second stanza. They
shot 47.1 percent from the field and held a 41-21 advantage on the
boards. Jon Greene led Richard Stockton with 16 points and 14 boards.
Bill Gelsomini and Zack Van Dyke had nine points apiece for the
Aggies (1-3) while Jason Seipt added eight points.
