University of Scranton 90, Delaware Valley College 59

SCRANTON (PA) - The University of Scranton men's basketball team jumped to a 20-point halftime lead and cruised to a 90-59 triumph over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The Aggies (5-18, 3-9) scored the opening basket of the game on a layup by Josh Taylor, but it was Scranton (18-5, 9-3) after that as the Royals scored 23 of the next 33 points for an 11-point advantage. They eventually took a 48-28 advantage into the intermission and the lead swelled to as many as 36 in the second stanza. Scranton shot 51.5 percent from the field and held a 42-22 advantage on the boards.

Randy Arnold notched 18 points and seven steals in the win. Paul Hawk and Tom Bicknell added 15 and 14 points respectively while Ryan FitzPatrick also hit double figures with 11.

Jason Seipt came off the bench and was a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc as the sophomore finished with 15 points to pace Delaware Valley. Isaiah Pinckney added 12 and is now just six points shy of becoming just the sixth place in school history to reach the 1,400-point plateau for a career.
