WILKES-BARRE (PA) - Four players reached double figures in scoring
for King's College as the Monarchs registered an 80-61 home victory
over Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.
King's shot 55.8 percent from the field and held a 41-23 advantage
on the boards as it improved to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
The loss was the sixth straight for the Aggies as they fell to 3-12
and 1-3.
Delaware Valley trailed by just three, 20-17, after Isaiah Pinckney's
bucket with 9:36 left in the first half. However, the Monarchs scored
12 of the next 16 points for an 11-point advantage and they eventually
led by 16, 44-28, at halftime. The Aggies never got closer than
14 points the rest of the way.
Vince Scalzo paced King's with 18 points while Jamie Cousart and
Bob Nenstiel added 14 points apiece. Vince Sobocinski reached double
digits as well with 11 points.
Senior Isaiah Pinckney notched a game-high 21 points for the Aggies
while his five assists upper his career total to 272 and into fifth
place on the school's all-time list. Eric Lawton added 13 points
in the loss.
