Drew University 71, Delaware Valley College 47


MADISON (NJ) - Delaware Valley College shot just 27.5 percent from the field, en route to a 71-47 loss at Drew University in a Freedom Conference game. The Aggies fell to 3-11 overall and 1-2 in conference play while the Rangers upped their marks to 5-7 and 1-2.

Drew jumped out to a 17-4 lead in the first seven minutes and never looked back. The Rangers built their lead to 18, 38-20, at halftime and led by as many as 25 in the contest. Delaware Valley could not get back in the game as it hit just 11 of 40 field goal attempts, including a 2-for-14 effort from 3-point land.

Eric Lawton paced the Aggies with 11 points and seven boards while Zack Van Dyke had eight points and seven rebounds. Isaiah Pinckney, who entered the game as the Freedom Conference's leading scorer (20.4) was just 1-for-8 from the field and finished with seven points.

Chris Lopez poured in 16 points for Drew while Bob Carella and David Cramer also hit double figures with 14 and 12 points respectively.
