Delaware Valley College 59, Arcadia University 55

GLENSIDE (PA) - Junior forward Zack Van Dyke came off the bench to score a career-high 30 points and visiting Delaware Valley College held off a late Arcadia University rally for a 59-55, non-conference victory.

The win improved the Aggies to 3-6 on the season and they will end the first semester on December 17 when they travel to Division I Navy. The Knights fell to 1-8 with the loss.

Van Dyke hit 11 of 20 shots from the field, including a 6-for-11 effort from 3-point land. He also matched a career-high with 11 rebounds in 33 minutes of action.

Arcadia held an 11-6 lead with 12:13 to go in the first half before Delaware Valley responded with 12-0 run for a seven-point advantage with 5:10 remaining. The Knights hit a pair of free throws before five straight points by Van Dyke gave the Aggies a 23-13 advantage. Arcadia then made a late run in the half and trailed by just five, 25-20, at the break.

In the second half, Delaware Valley held a 33-32 lead before back-to-back treys by Van Dyke and Bill Gelsomini gave the Aggies a seven-point lead. The 3-pointer by Van Dyke was the fourth straight basket he made for the team - a run of nine points.

Delaware Valley upped the lead to as many as 14 and it still held a 57-48 advantage after Jason Seipt hit a pair of free throws with 1:56 remaining. The Knights made things interesting by scoring seven consecutive points to pull to within two, 57-55, with 14 ticks to go. Isaiah Pinckney was fouled six seconds later and the team's leading scorer this season hit both free throws to ice the game.

Seipt had eight points and six assists for the Aggies while Ryan Thomas also added eight points, Pinckney was held without a basket from the field, but was 7-for-8 from the foul line for seven points. He also added six assists.

Dave Boettcher had a double-double for Arcadia as he finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Andrew Martin added 12 points and nine boards in the loss.
