University of Scranton 61, Delaware Valley 45

SCRANTON (PA) - The University of Scranton men's basketball team went on a 27-4 run in the first half and downed visiting Delaware Valley College, 61-45, in a Freedom Conference game.

The teams were tied at 7-7 with 12:24 remaining in the first half as the Aggies Ryan Thomas nailed a 3-pointer. However, it was all Royals (14-4, 6-1 Freedom) after that as they drained five, 3-pointers on their way to the 27-4 spurt and a 34-11 advantage with 1:41 to go before intermission.

Delaware Valley (4-13, 1-6) scored the final four points of the stanza to trail by 19. The Aggies then began the second half with an 11-4 run, including four points by Pat Lenahan, to get to within 12, 38-26, with 14:32 remaining. However, Scranton built the lead up to as many as 21 and cruised the rest of the way.

Lenahan paced the Aggies with nine points while Dominque Brown and Zack Van Dyke came off the bench to add eight and seven points respectively. Tom Bicknell had a game-high 14 points for the Royals.
