King's College 86, Delaware Valley 60
WILKES-BARRE (PA) - King's College shot 55.4 percent from the field
and used a big run late in the first half to propel itself to an
86-60 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom
Conference game.
The Monarchs improved to 12-7 overall and 6-2 in Freedom play while
the Aggies fell to 4-14 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
King's connected on 31 of 56 shots from the field, including a
14-for-23 effort (60.9%) in the second half. The Monarchs jumped
out to an early nine point lead, but the Aggies pulled to within
three, 24-21, as Dominque Brown hit a pair of free throws with 8:09
to go before halftime. However, the Monarchs scored 22 of the next
26 points to build a 46-24 advantage, and Delaware Valley never
got closer than 18 points the rest of the way.
Jamie Cousart had a triple-double on the afternoon as he notched
18 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in 29 minutes of action for
King's.
Junior center Josh Taylor led Delaware Valley with a career-high
17 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field. He also added six
rebounds. Zack Van Dyke came off the bench to add 10 points while
Ryan Walsh hit a trio of 3-pointers to finish with nine points.
Isaiah Pinckney had eight points, six rebounds, five assists and
five steals in the loss.
