King's College 54, Delaware Valley 49

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - King's College scored the final six points of the game as the Monarchs pulled out a 54-49 road victory over Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The Monarchs improved to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the Freedom while the Aggies fell to 0-5, 0-2.

It was a back-and-forth contest that saw seven ties and nine lead changes. Trailing 48-44 with 4:38 remaining, Delaware Valley began a rally with a pair of Isaiah Pinckney free throws. Maurice Slaughter then hit one of two foul shots for a 48-47 deficit with 3:19 to go.

Pinckney gave the Aggies a 49-48 lead with 1:33 remaining, but Ryan Walsh was called for his second technical foul at the same time. Jim Welsh went to the foul line for King's and hit both shots for a 50-49 Monarch lead. Five seconds later, Kofi Dwebeng hit a field goal to up the lead to three. Thomas Moore iced the game for King's with a pair of free throws with three seconds remaining.

Moore finished with a game-high 16 points while Dwebeng added 13. Dominque Brown came off the bench to score 13 points and grab six rebounds for Delaware Valley while Pinckney had 12 points and four assists in the setback.
