FDU-Florham 76, Delaware Valley 67
MADISON (NJ) - The Delaware Valley College men's basketball tram
opened Freedom Conference play with a 76-67 road loss at FDU-Florham.
The loss dropped the Aggies to 0-4 overall while the Devils improved
to 2-3.
FDU-Florham opened the game with an 8-0 run and built the lead
to as many as 13 in the first half. Delaware Valley ended the stanza
with a 9-3 rally to trail by six, 43-37 at the break.
The Devils upped the lead once again, this time to as many as 14,
55-41, with 14:54 remaining. Back came the Aggies with a 17-4 run
capped by Paul Lewis' jumper with 6:52 to go to make it a one-point
game. However, the Devils responded with 11 of the game's next 12
points to seal the deal.
FDU-Florham shot 60 percent from the field while holding the Aggies
to just 32.3 shooting. Delaware Valley did force 27 Devil turnovers
in the contests, including 18 on steals.
Isaiah Pinckney paced Delaware Valley with 15 points while Dominque
Brown added 14 points and five steals. Lewis came off the bench
to contribute 10 points.
Frank Emslie came off the pine to notch a team-best 15 points for
FDU-Florham while Pierre Schmitt and Cody Chalmers added 13 apiece.
