Delaware Valley 80, Chestnut Hill College

PHILADELPHIA (PA) - Dominque Brown came off the bench to score
a game-high 25 points as Delaware Valley College rallied from an
eight-point halftime deficit and downed host Chestnut Hill College,
80-74, in a non-conference game.
The victory was the second straight for the Aggies as they finished
the first semester of play with a 2-7 record. They will return to
action on Tuesday, January 3 (7:00 p.m.) when they host Eastern
University.
Brown was 6-for-10 from the field (1-for-1 from 3-point land) and
a perfect 12-for-12 from the foul line. The sophomore transfer from
Holy Family also added four rebounds, three assists and two steals
from his guard position in 30 minutes of action.
Both team shots over 50 percent from the field in the first half
with the Griffins (0-6) taking a 46-38 advantage into the intermission.
Delaware Valley kept the hot shooting hand in the second half and
finished the game 25-for-49 (51.0 percent). The Aggie defense also
stepped up and limited Chestnut Hill to just 23.3 percent shooting
(7-for-30) over the final 20 minutes.
Delaware Valley scored 13 of the first 18 points in the second
half to tie the game at 51-51 with 13:04 remaining. Pat Lenahan
notched five points in the run while Brown added four.
Chestnut Hill quickly regained the lead on a Mike Devine 3-pointer
and the Griffins still held a 73-72 advantage with 3:05 remaining.
However, the Aggies went on an 8-1 run down the stretch to pull
out the victory. Brown had four of the eight points including a
jumper with 1:47 to go that gave Delaware Valley the lead for good.
Lenahan finished with 16 points while Zack Van Dyke added 14 points
and a game-high eight rebounds. Devine paced Chestnut Hill with
22 points.
