Lebanon Valley College 68, Delaware Valley 59

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - J.D. Byers poured in 30 points, including 18 in the second half, to lead Lebanon Valley College to a 68-59 road victory over Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

The Aggies (2-4) led by three on four separate occasions in the first half before the Flying Dutchmen (6-1) tied the contest at 29-29 at the break.

Lebanon Valley opened the second half with a 14-3 run to build its largest lead of the game, 43-32, with 10:24 remaining. Byers had five points in the run.

Delaware Valley fought back and pulled to within three, 60-57, with 2:16 to go as Meril Branch sand a 3-pointer. However, Jimmy Curran, Dan Hogan and Byers hit a pair of free throws apiece for a 6-0 Flying Dutchmen run and a 66-57 advantage with 26 seconds remaining.

Byers was 9-for-18 from the field, including a 4-for-7 showing from 3-point land, and a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line as he went the full 40 minutes. Steve Buzkinski added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Sophomore Isaiah Pinckney finished with 23 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Aggies. He had 14 of Delaware Valley's 29 points in the opening 20 minutes.

Branch poured in a career-high 14 points in 22 minutes off the bench while Orlon Baker also came off the bench to contribute nine points and five boards. Maurice Slaughter added eight points and a team-best 10 rebounds in the loss.
