OPENING ROUND OF THE WYNDHAM READING TIP-OFF
Albright College 102, Delaware Valley 82

READING (PA) -- The Delaware Valley College men's basketball team kicked off its 2004-05 season with a 102-82 loss to host Albright College in the first round of the Wyndham Reading Tip-Tournament.

The Aggies will now play Mount Aloysius College, a 123-80 loser to York College, in Saturday's consolation game (6:00 p.m.).

Delaware Valley trailed by just five, 45-40, at the intermission as the Aggies hit 47.1 percent of their shots (16-for-34). However, the Lions turned it up in the second half and scored 57 points while hitting 65.6 percent of their shots (21-for-32).

Four players reached double figures in scoring for Delaware Valley, led by Maurice Slaughter's 15 points. The Manor Junior College transfer hit six of his seven shots from the field and also added 11 rebounds in his first game with the Aggies.

Mike Zupa notched 14 points while 2003-04 Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year Isaiah Pinckney added 13 points and four assists. Mike Ezell came off the bench and hit all four of his shots from the field, en route to 10 points in 10 minutes of action.

Ben Gallagher and Lee Walter scored 19 points apiece to pace Albright. Preseason All-American Trevor Deeter added 18 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
