Philadelphia Biblical University 69, Delaware
Valley 59
DOYLESTOWN (PA) -- Delaware Valley College sophomore forward Kevin
Wright scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but it wasn't
enough as Philadelphia Biblical University scored the final 10 points
of the game and defeated the Aggies, 69-59, in a non-conference
game.
Wright was 10-for-15 from the field and 4-for-6 from the foul line
as he missed matching his career high in points by just one (25
points versus FDU-Florham last season). Seven of his nine boards
were on the offensive end in 28 minutes of action.
Wright's layup with 5:54 remaining tied the game at 55-55. The
two squad traded baskets on a pair of occasions for a 59-59 score
with 3:24 to go. However, the Crimson Eagles (1-2) ended the game
with a 10-0 run, including three each by Jeremy Coleman and Flor
Colon.
Delaware Valley (0-3) held a 34-29 lead at halftime and upped the
lead to 42-30 early in the second half as Wright scored four of
the eight points. Philadelphia Biblical got back in the contest
by scoring nine straight. Neither team led by more than five points
until the Crimson Eagles went on their late run.
Rich Schmidt recorded nine points and six rebounds for the Aggies.
Dante Johnson added eight points in the loss.
Coleman registered game-highs of 26 points and 14 boards for the
Crimson Eagles. Benji Campbell and Dave Booher added 12 and 11 points
