Moravian College 76, Delaware Valley 64
BETHLEHEM (PA) - The Delaware Valley College men's basketball
team returned to the court for the first time in 20 days and dropped
a 76-64 decision to host Moravian College in a non-conference game
.
The Aggies, who last played on December 17 when they fell by a 99-61
decision to Division I Lehigh University, are now 1-8 on the season.
The Greyhounds improved to 5-4.
Delaware Valley trailed by just three points, 21-18, following a
Mike Zupa 3-pointer with 10:07 left in the first half. However,
Moravian went on a 20-4 run to build a 19-point lead and it took
a 43-29 advantage into the intermission. The closest the Aggies
came the rest of the way was eight points, 65-57, with 4:46 remaining.
Sophomore Sean Smith paced Delaware Valley with 15 points off the
bench. Freshman Mike Zupa netted a career-best 13 points while fellow
rookie Mike Thornton added 10 points.
Brandon Zaleski notched game highs of 22 points and nine rebounds
for the Greyhounds.
