DeSales University 101, Delaware Valley 62

CENTER VALLEY (PA) - The DeSales University men's basketball team, ranked 20th in Division III, shot 55.6 percent from the field and downed visiting Delaware Valley College, 101-62, in a Freedom Conference game.

The Bulldogs (20-3, 10-2 Freedom) won its sixth straight game overall and its 18th straight in Billera Hall while Delaware Valley dropped to 4-19 overall and 3-10 in the Freedom Conference.

DeSales hit 40 of 72 shots from the field, including a record 16 made 3-pointers in 31 attempts (51.6%). Jim Zinn scored a game-high 19 points and also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to lead the attack. Jeff Clifford also reached double figures with 14 points and Sedale Walton added a season-high 10 points.

Four players did reach double digits for the Aggies including Mike Thornton with a team-high 16 points. Thornton also added seven rebounds and five assists. Erik Tegethoff added 13 tallies, Javon Alston also totaled 13 points, and Sean Smith recorded 12 markers in the loss.
