DeSales University 78, Delaware Valley 61

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - DeSales University, ranked 20th in Division III, tied a school record with their 12th win in a row as the Bulldogs rallied from a halftime deficit and downed host Delaware Valley College 78-61 in a Freedom Conference game.

DeSales is now 13-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in conference play while the Aggies fell to 3-12 overall and 2-3 in the Freedom.

Delaware Valley shot 50 percent from the field in the first half to take a 37-35 lead into the locker room. The Aggies trailed by nine with 5:48 to go in the half, before they went on a 15-6 run to end the first stanza. James Avant and Isaiah Pinckney scored five points apiece to key the spurt.

However, the Bulldogs began the second half by scoring 12 of the first 14 points for a 47-39 advantage with 16:47 remaining. They shot 62.1 percent in the second half and finished the game 33-for-57 (57.9%).

Jim Zinn had 19 points to pace DeSales while Michael Venafra added 12 points. David Bright and Kyle Koch also reached double figures with 10 points apiece.

Pinckney, a freshman, led Delaware Valley with 16 points. Fellow rookie Mike Thornton and Mike Zupa followed with 14 and 10 points respectively.
