Delaware Valley 67, Salisbury State University 65 (OT)
(Consolation Game of Dr. Kleppinger Tip-Off Classic at Alvernia College)

READING (PA) -- Freshman forward Frank Finney scored 15 points while fellow rookie Brian Singer hit the game-winning shot with three seconds to go in overtime as Delaware Valley downed Salisbury State University, 67-65, in the consolation game of the Alvernia College Dr. Kleppinger Tip-Off Classic.

Finney hit five of eight shots from the field, including a 5-for-7 showing from 3-point land, in 26 minutes of play. He was the lone Aggie representative on the all-tournament team.

Singer scored 13 points off the bench for the Aggies on 5-for-6 shooting with the biggest shot coming in the late stages of overtime as his short turnaround in the lane gave Delaware Valley its first victory of the season.

The Aggies led by as many as 18 in the first half and took a 38-21 lead into halftime. The Sea Gulls rallied in the second stanza and forced the extra session on Hasheem Alexander's 3-pointer with 43 seconds to go.

In overtime, Greg Cooper hit a 3-pointer on Salisbury State's opening possession, but back came Delaware Valley with five straight points for a two-point advantage. Randall Graves hit of pair of free throws and Finney hit his fifth and final 3-pointer of the game with 2:48 left.

The Sea Gulls regained the lead at 64-63 with 2:11 remaining but a piar of free throws by freshman Kevin Wright gaves the Aggies a one-point advanntage with 1:50 left. Salisbury State tied it on a free throw with 1:13 remaining which set up Singer's heroics at the end.

Joining Finney and Singer in double figures for Delaware Valley was sophomore Kevin Wolf, who netted 10 points and dished out five assists. Graves and Josh Wurtz had six rebounds apiece with Graves also notching five assists.
