METAGUE NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College senior pitcher Dan Metague (Southampton, PA/Cardinal Dougherty) has been named the Freedom Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 13.

Metague started two conference games during the week and went 2-0 with eight strikeouts and a 2.63 ERA. He pitched six-plus innings and allowed three runs in a 9-3 triumph over DeSales University on April 7. Six days later, he allowed just one run and three hits in a complete-game victory over FDU-Florham.

Metague, who entered the year with five career victories, is now 5-1 on the season with 35 strikeouts and a 3.55 ERA in 38 innings of work. He has helped lead the Aggies to an 18-9 overall record and a 5-4 mark in the Freedom Conference.

Delaware Valley returns to action on Tuesday, April 15 (4:00 p.m.) when it hosts Manhattanville College for a conference game. Both teams are tied for second place and the winner will move percentage points ahead of idle Arcadia University (7-5) for the top spot with two weeks remaining.
