ISGRO NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK

DOYLESTOWN (PA) - Delaware Valley College sophomore pitcher Mike Isgro (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) has been named the Freedom Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 30.

It marks the second time this season that Isgro has received the accolade from the conference. He went 2-0 with 13 strikeouts in 12 innings and a 2.25 ERA during the week. Isgro opened with a complete-game shutout, including eight strikeouts in a 4-0 win over Freedom Conference foe King's College on March 24. Six days later, he notched five more strikeouts in five innings of work in a 22-3 rout of Division II Chestnut Hill College.

For the season, Isgro is a perfect 4-0 with 32 strikeouts in 27 innings and a 1.67 ERA. He has helped Delaware Valley get off to a 12-7 start, including a 1-2 mark in the Freedom Conference. The 12 victories already surpass the team's entire win total from last season with more than 20 games remaining on the schedule. The Aggies return to action on Tuesday, April 1 when it hosts Widener University for a non-conference game.
