FORT PIERCE (FL) - A.J. DeNardo's RBI single with one out in the
bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Delaware Valley College
baseball team to a 9-8 victory over Blackburn College in Florida.
The Aggies (7-1) held a 7-5 lead going into the seventh when Blackburn
scored three times to take an 8-7 advantage. Delaware Valley rallied
in the bottom half of the inning and DeNardo, a freshman shortstop,
notched the winning hit. He went 3-for-4 i nthe game with one run
scored and a double.
Mark Roth continued his hot week by going 3-for-4 with two doubles
and a two RBIs. Brandon McCabe went 2-for-3 with two runs scored
and his first home run of the season. Sean Meister and Derek Scholl
added two hits apiece in the victory.
Freshman Matt Johnson picked up the victory after losing the save
opportunity. Fellow rookie Dave Keeler started the game and allowed
just one earned run in six innings. |
