Endowed Deanship / Professorship $2 Million
An endowed deanship provides funds for the human capital in a critical management area of the new university. It enables the institution to engage a dynamic leader who brings the expertise, leadership and management skills needed to move the academic program forward to a new level. Such support may also provide for an initiative fund for new programming and innovative ventures within the undergraduate or graduate programs.
At the core of academic excellence is a commitment to the scholars who educate our students. A professorship is one of the highest honors bestowed upon an academic leader in any discipline, reflecting their accomplishments in scholarly pursuits and their enduring commitment to student success. It brings prestige to both the holder of the position and to the College itself, and serves to attract the very best scholars.
University Status $6 Million
In the vision for a small, independent, teaching university, the institution will have three distinct undergraduate colleges and a school of graduate and entrepreneurial studies. This new structure was implemented in the summer of 2012. Innovative curriculum development will be the pedagogical cornerstone of both the graduate programs and the new entrepreneurial unit. There will be new master’s programs – including counseling psychology and policy studies – designed to meet the needs of today’s marketplace and to launch exciting new careers for our students. As a university, it will have a doctoral program.
Support also will fund the creation of an incubator unit for new projects and business ventures.
As a university, one of our commitments must be to bring new technological advancements to campus. Our goal is to ensure that students study and perform in a modern environment reflective of contemporary work places. Classroom and laboratory technology must be continually enhanced to prepare students for the fast-paced global arena in which they will live and work.
In the transition to becoming a university, DelVal will use the campaign to finance an institutional identity program that will introduce internal and external audiences to the changes. This marketing initiative will include new themes and messaging, and tell our story in strategic, dynamic way. There also will be a complete redesign of the website.
