There are many ways to provide service to your alma mater. Delaware Valley University has volunteer opportunities to meet the needs, interests and schedules of all alumni. What can you do to make a difference?
Become a mentor to a current student or recent graduate
Mentoring takes many different shapes and levels of involvement. Each provides valuable support to DelVal students. You may communicate via email from a student or recent graduate interested in discussing your field of work, meet with a student or recent graduate in person to provide career coaching, or be a guest lecturer to discuss your career experiences and offer advice. You can coordinate exposure to the workplace through the employment program or establish an ongoing professional career guidance relationship with a student or recent graduate.
Recruit new students
Help recruit the next class of Delaware Valley University students and/or nominate students for scholarships. Spread the word about the benefits of a DelVal education. At times, alumni are called upon to attend college fairs. Spread the word about DelVal to those students you come into contact with in your community. As an alumnus or alumna, you are an excellent recruiting tool, as students love to meet graduates of the university and hear about your experiences as an Aggie.
Participate in campus beautification projects
Become a partner of the Henry Schmieder Arboretum. The arboretum is always in need of help to develop, expand and maintain the grounds.
Serve on a campus special events committee
Volunteer for events that are of particular interest to you, such as Homecoming or A-Day, or simply help wherever there is a need.
