The Executive Committee is the driving force behind the Alumni Association. The Committee meets four times a year to develop and discuss alumni programs. Each year, the Annual Business Meeting is held during Homecoming weekend.

The Executive Committee is composed of the Alumni members of the College Board of Trustees, the officers of the Executive Committee, 36 elected members and one senior class representative. In addition, each year, the graduating class elects two graduating seniors as representatives of their class for a two-year term.

Peter has held the position of Alumni Association President since October 2009 and will continue serving for at least another two years; he has been part of the AEC since 1994.  Currently, Peter is a member of the Homecoming Committee, Nominating, Membership & Credential Committee and Budget, Finance & Investment Committee.  Peter has been an extremely active within strategic planning for Delaware Valley College and is dedicated to working with our alumni and students.

Joe Ballantyne ’74, Food Industry – Alumni Association Representative 

Joe has been serving on the Alumni Association Executive Committee for several years; for him this has been a rewarding experience.  Delaware Valley College is an important part of his life and he feels it is important to give back in time or in financial support to the College.

Chelsea Killinger ’10, Equine Studies – Alumni Association Representative

Chelsea is a recent graduate of Delaware Valley College and we are excited to have her join us on the Alumni Association Executive Committee.  As a student, Chelsea was the treasurer of Equestrian and Dressage Teams and graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Currently, Chelsea is back on campus obtaining her MBA in Finance.  She is excited to be part of this organization as she feels she has an opportunity to make great contributions to Delaware Valley College academically and within the community.

Glenn Michalak ’79 & ’07, Animal Husbandry – Alumni Association Representative

Glenn will continue serving as a member of the Alumni Association Executive Committee as well as being the Chairperson of the Nominating, Membership & Credential Committee.  Glenn looks forward to continuing his time with the committee to help the Alumni Association move alongside the College during the time of strategic planning.

Stephen Nathan ’92, Business Administration – Alumni Association Representative

Steve will continue serving as a member of the Alumni Association Executive Committee.  Steve is currently the Chairperson for the Homecoming Committee and enjoys working with the entire College community with various events throughout the year.  Steve particularly enjoys events such as Student Move-in and 30th Night until Commencement as these events both give a great opportunity to meet with current students and a chance to educate them about the Alumni Association.

George Perry, Jr. ’63, Horticulture – Alumni Association Representative

George enjoys talking to prospective students and their parents about the benefits of attending Delaware Valley College.  This is a historic time to be involved with the Alumni Association and he is excited to continue volunteering.  George is presently on the Development & Long Range Planning Committee.  George has also served on the Dean’s Agricultural Land Use and Facilities task force.

Harry Schussler ’04, Business Administration

Harry was very active in Student Government as a student, serving as Class of 2002’s Vice President from ’00-‘02, Student Government Vice President from ’02-’03, and Student Government Board President ’03-’04 and continues his involvement at a high level.  As a member of the AEC, Harry has gained more knowledge on how to help the current students and to encourage our alumni to stay involved or become involved.

Joseph Stryjewski ’73, Business Administration – Alumni Association Representative

Joe will continue serving as a member of the Alumni Association Executive Committee.  Over the years, Joe has served on the Budget, Finance, & Investment Committee, Public Relations Committee, Homecoming Committee, Nomination, Membership & Credentials Committee and Development & Long Range Planning Committee.  Joe is also active in his high schools reunion program.  Joe’s goal is to help make the Alumni Association the sounding board for our graduates and to provide a medium for alumni input and participation in the growth of our college as well as interaction with our current students and future alumni.

Michael Trainer ’70, Chemistry – Alumni Association Representative

Mike has been a member of the Alumni Association Executive Committee since 2000 and has been an active member of both the Undergrad Liaison and Scholarship Committees.  Mike has also been a member of the 1896 Society for the last 9 years.  Mike is looking forward to his fifth term so he can continue his work of giving back to Delaware Valley College.
