Held each fall, the 1896 Society Gala honors those who demonstrate an outstanding financial commitment to the University. Named for the year of DelVal’s founding and reflecting the belief that a dedicated group of individuals can make a special contribution to higher education, the 1896 Society brings together individuals with leadership, ability, experience, and influence to support Delaware Valley University’s mission with their major financial gifts.
The 2017 1896 Society Gala was held at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown. Highlights included:
- Mike Trainer ’70 receiving the Patricia Hilton Volunteer of the Year Award for his dedication to DelVal;
- Former United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack being honored with the inaugural Krauskopf Medal for his legacy of public service;
- Student Body President Julia Reynolds ’18 speaking about the transformation she has seen in herself during her time at DelVal; and
- President Maria Gallo acknowledging the generosity of donors of the 1896 Society and discussing the early stages of the strategic planning process.
