How do I transfer colleges?

Whether you’re coming from a four-year institution or transferring from community college to university, DelVal will make transferring colleges seamless. We offer rolling admissions, which means there are no college transfer deadlines. You can get started at any time during the year! 

Transferring from community college to university

To provide a simplified process for transferring from community college to university, Delaware Valley has agreements with many community colleges. These agreements outline the core courses that will transfer to DelVal so that you don’t have any surprises. Our Core-to-Core agreements, help you make the most of your associate degree and the courses you’ve taken, by paving the way towards your bachelor’s degree. Core-to-Core agreements, allow students coming from our partner schools to come to DelVal with their core requirements completed. 

This helps you create a curriculum at the start of your education and sets you up for success.

As you consider your options, we know transferring college credits is top of mind for you. DelVal accepts up to 90 credits from all regionally-accredited institutions, and we’ll show you to apply your credits to your DelVal degree. DelVal named a top transfer-friendly school

Phi Theta Kappa, a student honor society, recognized Delaware Valley University as a great school for college transfer students to finish their bachelor’s degrees. 

Any student who has completed post-secondary coursework at a regionally accredited college is considered a transfer student. 

These steps are for transfer students, degree completion students and second-degree students.

  1. Complete DelVal’s online transfer student application.
  2. Have high school and/or college transcripts sent to the Admission Office at the following address:

  3. Schedule a campus visit. This is not required, but it is strongly recommended.
  4. Begin working on your financial aid paperwork as soon as you can.
  5. For Veterans only - please submit a copy of DD form 214. If you are presently in the service, you must submit a letter of reference from your commanding officer.
  6. If you have any questions at any time regarding your application or the process, give our Transfer Coordinator a call at 215.489.4829. 

Next Steps

  1. Your application will be reviewed after we receive your application and transcripts.
  2. After your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email notifying you of DelVal's decision on your application.
  3. If you have been admitted to DelVal, evaluation of your previous credits for transfer to DelVal will begin. You will receive a copy of this evaluation in the mail.
  4. Our financial aid team will put together a financial aid package for you if you have been admitted to DelVal and you have filled out the appropriate FAFSA listing Delaware Valley University (00325200). You will receive this via email as soon as it is finished.

Registration

After you have paid your enrollment deposit, student login credentials will be emailed to you and you will receive information about registering for courses.
