The Department of Plant Science offers a Bachelor of Science degree in crop science, floriculture and nursery production, turf management, sustainable agriculture systems and horticulture.  The B.S. in horticulture offers specializations in commercial crop production and marketing, hydroponic crop production, and plant science and biotechnology.

Graduates with a degree from our Department of Plant Science are able to:

  • Work in field production
  • Work as a crop advisor/crop consultant or government agent
  • Work in agricultural product sales and marketing, research, or agricultural educator
  • Attend graduate school
  • Work in greenhouse and nursery production, wholesaling, brokerage, florist and garden center management
  • Work as golf course superintendent, sports turf manager, lawn care manager, grounds manager, sod production manager, sales and service, and research and instruction
