Equine Studies

• Supports 9.2 million horses that are cared for by 4.6 million Americans in the industry; a ratio of 2:1
• Employs 701,946 people directly, according to a recent American Horse Council study

Our equine studies program provides you with the knowledge and technical skills that are in high demand by this industry. Your four-year degree in equine studies will expertly prepare you for management positions in equestrian and breeding facilities, horse show personnel management, business management and marketing, as well as riding, driving, instruction, and training positions.

Additional opportunities are available in equine-related industries. Some important support services positions include the manufacture, distribution and sale of equine supplies, feed and health products that require confident, knowledgeable, well-trained people to be successful in today's competitive business arena.

Equine students pay additional fees to cover operational costs to support the upkeep and boarding of over 50 horses that are used in the program. All tack, training equipment, and supplies will be provided for the students. Additionally, entering equine students are provided with an orientation before entering the program, which familiarizes the student with the facility and the program to ensure the student's success.
